A 20-year Retrospective Study of Pediatric Oral Lesion Biopsy

The aim of this study was to provide pathological information pediatric oral lesions by retrospectively analyzing biopsy results from patients at the Seoul National University Dental Hospital. Biopsy all patients, aged 0 - 16 years, were collected files Department Oral Pathology, Hospital January 2000 April 2020. divided into 3 age groups: 5, 6 11 and 12 years. All classified three main categories: inflammatory reactive, tumor or tumor-like cystic lesions. Among total 2928 specimens, lesions(35.66%) most common, followed reactive lesions(34.29%) lesions(30.05%). Regardless categories used in study, odontoma frequently found lesion, mucocele dentigerous cyst being next common. This first retrospective review pathology Korea, may assist providing informative insight for dentists.
